Frank Ashtor

Having grown up in the surrounding London area Frank developed a love for locally grown produce. At the age of 13 Frank started to cook meals for his family which started a life-long passion for creating hardy and delicious meals that can please many pallets.

Having developed a passion for cooking as a teenager, making the transition from high school student to Canada’s Chef School was easy. Here he learned from Canada’s best chefs and developed friendships with his teachers that he still keeps in contact with today.

Upon graduating with high honours from Canada’s Chef School Frank got his first job in the prestigious downtown London Frederick’s Bar and eatery. While here he was under the tutelage of Sam Cespal who is known locally for his passion for hearty and delicious meals.

From there Frank has come to us and has taken on the role as Sous Chef and we can not be more delighted in the passion and flair that he has brought to our restaurant making it one of the top restaurants in all of south western Ontario.

Rosie Brundel


Being in a profession that is traditionally dominated by men Rosie Brundel has proven herself time and time again.

Having the creativity and inspiration to have a grand career in the culinary arts Rosie began her education at the School of Culinary Arts in Windsor.

After graduating with high honours Rosie’s first apprenticeship was under the Windsor and world wide known Charles Sanders at The Wild Boar. Here Rosie learned what it takes to not only prepare a dish that will be remembered not just until the next meal but far into the future and bring patrons back wanting more.

Since her start at The Wild Boar Rosie has been the driving force behind many restaurants in the London area and we are fortunate here at the Sample Bar and Grill to have such a talented and driven force who delights in coming out from behind the kitchen doors and seeing the delight on our patrons faces and talking with them about their experience.

New Year’s Eve Celebration
